Handicap
Parking Permits
 Village
of Chester residents who provide a medical certification (see forms
below), may apply for a Handicap Parking Permit or license plates at
the Village of Chester Police Station. Applicants must show
their NYS driver's license at the time the application is turned
in. For more information, please call 845.469.4681.
Permanent
(Blue) - New York State requires that the expiration date CANNOT
be more than five years from the date of issuance.
Temporary
Permits (Red)
- Temporary permits are available for persons
who are temporarily
unable to ambulate without the help of an assisting device.
Examples of an assisting device would be wheelchairs,
crutches, walkers, canes, prostheses, portable oxygen or another
person.
Renewal
- Permit holders should not wait
until the last day to renew their permits. A new application
form must be completed to renew the hanging type permit. Notes
on prescription pad forms from the doctor's office are not
acceptable.
